Club Activities

The Club has involved itself in many local activities relating to Amateur Radio. For many years, until 2000, we organised and ran the Bristol Radio Rally until it became clear that the attendances at smaller rallies were in decline.

We take part in Amateur Radio Contests, mounting an annual entry in the VHF National Field Day event taking place over the first weekend in July each year.

Each year a group of the more active or adventurous members undertake a pilgrimage to Lundy Island in the Bristol Channel to activate this barren lump of granite for the rest of the worlds amateur population by running a special event station GB2BLE.

We have also been involved in fund raising activities, taking part in Transmission 2006 where our members were sponsored for each QSO they made during a set period.

More details of these activities can be found on the subsidiary pages.
