In order to be able to operate Amature Radio transmitting equipment it is necessary to have a license. In the UK there are 3 types of license:

You must start off with the Foundation License, you cannot skip any stage to get to the Advanced License. Each stage requires you to complete various assessments and pass an exam before you can obtain the appropriate license. SBARC has a proud record in providing the relevant courses and we are a registered examination centre for all 3 Licenses. We welcome people of all ages to join our courses. To enable the tutors to keep on track with course schedules we request candidates to make ever effort to attend every lesson. It is extreamly important that you attend lessons where assessments are scheduled. If you miss assessments we may not have time to fit them in before the final exam, in which case you will have to wait until the next course in order to continue.
