In recent years a small group of Club members have concentrated on DXpeditions to Lundy Island managing to activate the island for a week almost each year since 1990.

Lately, however, the organisation required to secure dates and properties on Lundy Island has become more protracted as increased popularity and awareness of Lundy has resulted in reservations having to be made 18 months or more in advance which is very difficult to get participants to commit to. As a result of this and other factors including difficulties faced by Steve G0UQT in moving around the island the activation group have turned their attention to other destinations.

Traditionally, or perhaps historically, what has now become an annual pilgrimage to Lundy was only one of a number of different outings, activities and activations that the Club organised on a year by year basis. Tales of losing handhelds over the side of a narrow boat remind us that other destinations and activities have shown themselves to be both practical and enjoyable.

2017 saw a return to the more varied activity breaks and the pages under this heading provide details of what is planned or occurred.
