Foundation Exam 07/02/2019

Indicative 80% Success rate in this Milestone Exam

On 7 February 2019; 5 intrepid students sat their Foundation Exam with the South Bristol Amateur Radio. Some of these had studied with us from the start whilst others had joined to complete Practical Assessments, undertake a little revision and sit the exam.

On the night indicative marking suggests that 4 out 5 (80%) of candidates achieved the target pass mark or better.

Congratulations are due to (in alphabetical order):

  • Alec
  • Ben
  • Ken
  • Owen

Unfortunately Sue missed out by a tiny margin so our commiserations to her. We look forward to recapping the weaker areas and organising a re-sit in a few weeks.

This was a bit of a landmark course for us, it represents a number of milestones:

  • It is likely to be the last Foundation Course we run until the new syllabus training notes have been completed; and more importantly
  • It was the first course that John M0JFO had run since registering as an assessor.

Throughout the course John M0JFO was assisted by Peter G0DRX and John would like to express his gratitude for the support that Peter offered that in no small way contributed to the successful results.

Congratulations to John on the successful completion of his first course and a thank you to Peter G0DRX and Eddie M0LJT for acting as invigilators as the regular people were either unable to do so or were ruled out due to family connections with the students.

Watch this space for news of newly minted M7 callsigns shortly.
