2m Quad Beam Installed at Club HQ

The Club now has a directional VHF capability for Club nights

We have had plans for what seems like an eternity to put up a directional beam at the Club. The recent donation from David 2E0GZO of a 2m 5 element quad antenna allowed this to become a reality.

Over the weekend Eddie M0LJT, Gary 2E0HCC and John M0JFO took themselves, their tools and their vast expertise to the Club HQ where they proceeded to put together and erect the antenna on the waiting rotator.

The Club thanks David for the kind donation of the antenna but particularly Eddie, Gary and John for their unstinting work in putting the antenna up.  Measurements showed a very flat SWR all the way across 144MHz – 146MHz so we’re looking forward to some VHF activity on future Club nights.
